GOP Dinosaurs

It it because I'm a Dem these days or is the GOP very suspicious. They have got the nasty swift boat ads, voter fraud scandals in Fla, and God knows what else.

I hope the DNC remains above board and the GOP is revealed for what it is, a desperate party with a puppet for Prez.

There was a time when I was a GOP, both my father and I, in fact. Lower taxes, smaller government, strong Military, strong on business all made sense to me. But the GOP is no longer these things. In fact, I would say the DNC is now these things with a good social conscience thrown in. The GOP is now a bunch of geo-centric (that the earth is the center of the universe), flat earth types who think the world was created in 6 days.

There must be studies that show the stages of major movements. The GOP seems to be at the late stages. They are more and more ideological and out of touch.

The high tech middle class is behind the DNC simply because they seem more level headed and embrace innovation and high technology.

While the GOP is going the way of the dinosaurs.

Politics Sucks

You may have noticed that I haven't blogged lately, until today anyway. And it's because I'm really sick of politics right now. It has me depressed and I just want to ignore the whole thing until November, when I'll punch a hole for John.

There is such bitterness and ranchor, not to mention lies and deceptions.

The swift boat guys knocking Kerry's medals really put me over the edge.

How dare anyone question any soldier's medals and bravery, even if he is running for President. It really is the bottom of the barrel for the GOP attack machine.

The guy has five medals from Vietnam. They don't hand those things out like candy.

There has to be some honor in a Presidential race and for the GOP to bottom out with this stuff really indicates their desperateness.

I only hope Kerry doesn't bottom out to keep pace.

PS. I've been encouraged to blog on other stuff besides politics, so I'll start doing that. Little bit of something for every taste.

The Waterpark

Took my daughter and friends to a waterpark for her birthday. It was fun. The kids are old enough now to run around on their own.

It was a hot day and the place was packed.

Now remember, it's a waterpark, meaning lots of water slides and a wave pool and everyone is wearing bathing suits and running around in bare feet.

So there is a lot of oogling going on, perfectly natural. Lot of standing in line and there is not much else to do.

That is when I made the observation that some people should not wear a bathing suit in public. Not only are the abundance of tattoos TMI, but the preponderance of girth in all the wrong places makes me never want to eat fast food again.

Some people, correction, lots of people at the waterpark are just plain fat, and wearing small, tight fitting, bathing suits and letting the rest hang out.

The sad thing was the fat kids, boys and girls alike. Chubby at 6 years old doesn't foretell a healthy future.

Of course, being an exercise nut case lately, I was looking trim and slim and it's a nice feeling.

But the overwieght people could have been feeling good about themselves, especially in a bathing suit.

And yes, I did leave the speedo at home. Although I did see a couple strutting around in matching lion-print swimwear, a string bikini for lady and a speeo for the man.

But they did look slim.
